Romeo + Juliet: Act II, scenes 1 and 2


Answer the following using complete sentences.

1. The Prologue say that Romeo is now in love again and that his love is being returned.

2.In this scene Romeo climbs over the wall into Juliets garden. Then Benvolio and Mercuito have an argument because Mercuito isn't worried and Benvolio is.

3.The time of day is sun rise because he says "But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon".

4.In the line Juliet is saying or asking where he is or if it is him.

5.In this line Juliet wishes that Romeo weren't a Montague and that he wasn;t the son of a Montague.

6.a.The person that says this line is Romeo on lines 25-26. It mean that he would like to hold her hand and feel her cheeks.

b.This line is said by Juliet in lines 47-48. This line says that can't be anything else but a Momtague.

c.It is said by Romeo in line 78-79. This means that although he is sweet he is proof of their rivalry between the two families.

d. This line is said by Juliet in lines 125-128. It says that she is not sure of beign with Romeo because there is alot of risks.

7.At the end of this scene they agree to meet the next day.

Act 2.

1.Prologue: He is infatuated with beauty, ( he gets over Rosaline only to quickly become infatuated with Juliet.)

scene 1.
2. Romeo has separated himself from his friends, Benvolio and Mercutio, who are in a way making fun of Romeo, ( in regard to Rosaline.)


Scene 2.
3. The time was sunrise. ”What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun! Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon.”


4. She means, why are you called Romeo?



5. She means, rebel against your father, and change your name.


6. A. Romeo says it. It means he wants to be close to her and touch her face. Line 23 and 24
B. Juliet: It means that even if Romeo were to change his name, he would still be just as sweet to Juliet. Line 43 and 44
C. Romeo: Line 73. It means, look my love, I am protected by their hatred.
D. Juliet: Lines 117 through 119. It means, she wasn’t happy about the engagement, it was too sudden and foolish.

2. a summary of scene 2 act 1 is that Romeo is somewhere near capulet's orchard thinking about rosaline and juliet.

4. She is saying that she wishes Romeo wasn't a Montague.
5. She says to not admit he's a Montague and change his name.
